Why is MCT oil classed as a good oil and not fattening?
Medium chain triglycerides are fatty acids that are more easily digested by the body than other fats. Fat molecules are structured in "chains." As the name implies, Medium chain triglycerides are shorter than the long chain triglycerides. This makes them more easily digested than long chain triglycerides as long chain triglycerides have more atoms in their composition. Because MCT's have shorter chains than long chain triglycerides, the medium chain triglycerides are less calorically dense.
